Personal AI radio

Your music. Your hosts. Your station.

Host-Caster turns your own music into a radio station. Between songs, AI hosts you design talk about what just played, your calendar, the news and your day.

Free to start. Plans from $7.99 a month. Or self-host it for free.

Host-Caster on air: the station Host-Caster 88.1 with hosts Maya and Jules, and what they just said

How it works

On air in three steps

  1. Bring your music

Add songs and folders from your device, or connect your music server, internet radio, YouTube or Spotify.

  2. Design your hosts

Start from a preset or describe a host in a sentence. Pick how they think and how they sound.

  3. Go on air

Press play. Your songs flow like a station, and your hosts break in between them.

Features

Radio that knows you

Everything a great station has, made for an audience of one.

Hosts you design

Up to four hosts per station, each with a personality, a way of talking, energy, humor and catchphrases. Start from a preset or describe one in a sentence. Two hosts hold a real conversation.

Your life in the breaks

The weather outside, what is on your calendar, the news you follow, a birthday coming up, your notes and reminders. You choose what each station talks about, and how often.

Any AI, any voice

Use the included Host-Caster AI and voices, or bring your own: OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok, OpenRouter, ElevenLabs and more, or a model running on your own computer.

Works offline

Offline or between AI connections, a scripted fallback reads short lines about the song, the time, the weather and your day in your device's own voice. Weather and calendar are kept for later. The music never goes quiet.

Call in

Talk to your hosts by voice or by typing, and they answer you on air. Share some news, ask a question, or just say hi.

Any music source

Your own files, your Subsonic or Navidrome server, thousands of internet radio stations, YouTube and Spotify Premium. On Android, keep your favorite music app and let your hosts break in.

On air

Hosts that sound like real radio

Breaks land between songs with an ident chime and live captions. The music dips under the voice, and the last line can ride over the intro of the next song.

  • Written while the song plays, so there is never dead air
  • Two or more hosts banter with each other
  • Every break saved in your on-air history
Now Playing: the song Last Bus Home, host Jules on air with a caption of the break, and the queue

Hosts

Give them a personality

Who they are, how they talk, how much energy and humor they bring, what they love talking about and what they never bring up.

  • Eight presets to start from
  • Describe a host in a sentence and let the AI fill in the rest
  • A brain and a voice for each host
Designing a host: who they are, how they talk, energy, humor, catchphrases and favorite topics

Stations

You run the show

Pick the hosts for each station, how often they talk, for how long, and how loud the music stays underneath.

  • Talk after every song, or every few
  • Short, normal or long breaks
  • Topics per station: songs, weather, calendar, news and more
Setting up a station: two hosts sharing a brain, how often and how long they talk, music under the voices

Library

All your music in one place

Import songs and whole folders with their tags and covers, make playlists, like songs, and mix in internet radio, YouTube and Spotify.

  • MP3, M4A, FLAC, OGG, OPUS, WAV and more
  • Your songs stay on your device
  • Crossfade, queue, lock screen controls
The library: songs with covers, albums, artists, playlists and liked songs

What a break sounds like

Last Bus Home City Pulse, just played

Jules

You just heard Last Bus Home, from City Pulse. Still sounds like the night before, doesn't it?

Maya

Good morning, Sam. Rain clears by eight, and you have the dentist at ten, so maybe skip the snooze button today.

Jules

And a heads up: Nora's birthday is on Saturday. Up next, something softer. Lantern Swim, by The Quiet Tides.
